albostriata, (stri)
- Habit:
- Leaves: The
same
spotting as in the cotyledones is seen in very young leaves in the vicinity of the growth
cone.
- Seedlings:
- Cotyledones: Completely white at germination. Later they
develop some or many
little green spots which form a very regular whitegreen spotting.
- Hypocotyl: Completely white at germination.
- Inflorescence:
- Flowers:
- Upper lip:
- Lower lip:
- Bumps:
- Seed:
- Roots:
- Remarks: The
spotting is the result of back mutation to stri+ (see also pal-rec). This backmutation may appear at
such an
early stage that whole leaves stem sectors and whole stems show a normal
green.
There are heterozygyous in most cases, very rarely homozygous. Older
leaves
often appear completely green macroscopically. The appearance of the
first green
spots and the amount of spotting vary greatly. Often seedlings remain 8
to 10
days after germination completely white, often they are almost green
after the
spreading of the germination. stri+ is completely dominant over
stri. Vitality and fitness vary with the amount of the spotting.
