• Flowers: The red colour of the flower is reduced. Pal is a series of multiple alleles. Only pal⁺ pal⁺ have a normal red colour. pal^tub pal^tub plants have flowers with red colour only at the base of the tube. The bracts cover this red spot almost entirely. It is more distinct at the inside of the tube.
