Basiflava, (Bas)
- Habit: Growth strongly retarded in Bas/Bas+ plants.
Even stronger retardation in Bas/Bas leaves. They usually die after two or three pairs of leaves.
- Leaves: Young leaves get yellow at the base. Older leaves get green starting from the middle vein.
- Seedlings:
- Cotyledones: In Bas/Bas+ plants the cotyledones are green after germination. They become yellow from the stem. Only a small spot at the top stays green.
- Hypocotyl:
- Inflorescence: Only 3 to 6 flowers in the inflorescence (normally 10 to 16).

- Remarks: Expression of the trait varies with genetic background. Germination of Bas/Bas and Bas/Bas+ is reduced. Backcrosses: 8001:9813, F2 894:333
