• Abstract: In our recent publication on the genes of Antirrhinum majus (see: Schick R.,Stubbe H. 1932.html) we made some basic remarks about some questions of genetic nomenclature, that resulted from our work on this subject. In the meantime H. de Haan published "The symbolizing of hereditary factors" (Genetica XV, 1932, see Haan H. de, 1932) which prompted us to clarify our position in regard to some of his proposals.
  For Antirrhinum too the establishment of a standard type proved to be necessary, since otherwise the appearance of a dominant allel would the result in the change of the formulae of races that have only recessive allels so far.
